So soon!

As you can see from the countdown clock, I am mere seconds away from leaving for Tokyo. How do I feel? Excited? Not quite strong enough... really, I want to soil myself, I'm so fantastically psyched. Gross? Yes, but kind of the best description.

YAY!

My Weekend Tubing in VA

Cathy and Matty picked me up in DC and we went to a late-night dinner at Vapiano. We split a bottle of wine, ate delicious pasta dishes and devoured cupcakes in honor of Matty's birthday.
The next day we woke early to head west to the Shenandoah River site where we would be making our camp. Before we went, we hit the Giant Food Market and a local Burger King, where I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and the Children's Place slides (not at the same time). We hung around the campsite a bit, set up our tents, got to know one another (there were 16 people in total; 2 that I knew personally and 4 a little bit) then got to the important part: tubing. Sweet! Below is me hugging Matty and a nice depiction of what our raft blob looked like.

Power of Suggestion

This weekend I told a guy wearing these that he looked like a hipster. He got so pissed that he threw them in the Shenandoah River.

TV Shows I LOVE: Gossip Girl

I love this show, who doesn't, blah blah, I like to stalk Ed Westwick and friends, etc. etc.

This dumb thing was featured in People in May:

TV Shows I LOVE: Degrassi TNG

Degrassi. Never has such an alliterative word inspired so much excitement in me. I have officially become wildly obsessed with a little Canadian phenomenon called "Degrassi: The Next Generation." "Degrassi" is a drama centered around students at Degrassi High in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The show's creators tackle real and hard-hitting issues such as homosexuality, teen pregnancy, STDs, school shootings, rape, drugs, mental illness and alcoholism with aplomb and without whitewash. One of the reasons I love it is the actors, who are of high school age and aren't all beautiful (unlike "90210" or "Saved By The Bell"). Plus the multiple storylines and characters ensure that each show is different and interesting.

What's more, as soon as I began declaring my love for the show, other fans came out of the woodwork. Who knew so many people loved this show??

Here's the latest cast!

Now that I feel like I've written a book report, I'll close with saying that you should catch this show on The N on Fridays and on Sundays on WPIX or My9 or whatever that station is called now. On second thought, it might just air in NYC on Sundays... regardless, find it on your TV and WATCH IT.
