Master Cleanse: Night 2

I met with M after work today for a little walk and talk in the Park, so that took my mind off of my deep, throbbing hunger pains. Turns out that I didn't drink enough juice today. I really should be drinking 96 oz and only had prepared 64 oz. Three of my Nalgene bottles, not two. Good to know.

Also, the 1/4 cayenne was TOO MUCH... I am not a huge fan of spicy foods to begin with, and this didn't help my will to consume the drink. I drank like a fish when I came home at 8:45 tonight - so much so that my stomach feels all warm and tingly as if I just took two vodka shots in a row. Fascinating how I'm HALLUCINATING the effects of alcohol and haven't consumed any in 3 days, and I haven't even dreamed about food. Okay, that's a lie. I fantasized about chomping on a french fry during the client call today, chewing on a strawberry Starburst and savoring a Pesto Mozzarella panini. Oohhhhh my my stomach is rumbling like the WWE now.

Going to the dentist tomorrow, and not a moment too soon. I think I have like 10 cavities. My family entered the genetic lottery and got bad teeth. Oh yeah, they're pretty white and straight, but full of holes! Don't think this lemonade + syrup drink is helping the holes, either... AND my teeth are fuzzy on this detox!!! Why IS that?!

Well, off to bed. I asked A to wake me up at 6 AM when she leaves for her early shift at work... so I can prepare for the top-down enema. And I mean PREPARE.
It's not going to be pretty.

I should tell you about my teeth; I kept my childhood dentist's office on Fifth Avenue during the 1980's. I'm still famous over there.

Ergh... I'm worried about the sitting in the dentist chair for 45 minutes. That poor, poor dental hygienist!

I should tell you that every morning at 7am, I feel like I'm participating in an episode of Fear Factor.

I'm going to experiment with this tomorrow AM: Concentrate 2 teaspoons of the sea salt in 1/2 a quart of luke warm water and chug. Then chase it with 1.5 quarts of bottled water. Do a little dance to mix it all in. HAH.

Someone decided to edit the Master Cleanse webpage on Wikipedia last week and take out -valuable- information what what exactly happens to our bodies during this fast. Luckily, I printed it the first version... here's an excerpt of what to expect:

Stage 2 (Day 3 to 7)
Fats, composed of transformed fatty acids, are broken down to release gylcerol from the glyceride molecules and are converted to glucose. The skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body. People with problem-free skin may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food satiety center in the hypothalamus. You may feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. This effect is temporary. The desire to eat will disappear. Lack of hunger may last 40 to 60 hours, depending on where you are on water or juice.

The body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take as much need rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. What blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs. The cleaning organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Periodically, the lymphatic system expels mucoid matter through the nose or throat. The volume excreted of this yellow-colored mucus can be shocking. The sinuses go through periods of being clogged, then will totally clear. The breath is still foul and the tongue coasted. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and the impacted feces on the intestinal wall will start to loosen.
